Front does not look like the concept. This is a disappointing design. Looks like the M850i front with some other bits on it.

I like it. Of course the photo isn't the best quality, and overall crops things out the background, but I think this car, in its press photos, or in black or white will look really good.

It's unfortunately not the high quality and timeless design we've become used to with z cars. Every z car, be it the z1, z3, z4 or z8 had a very high quality appeal and timeless design such that each of them still look great to this day.
This new one unfortunately seems to go for the immediate wow factor of giant and lazy character lines, vents and grills. The result is something that will look different and attention grabbing the first year one sees it and then very cheap looking after another 6 months. Similar to Toyota or Honda designs. The Porsche Boxster and even SLK have managed to keep their timeless character, even if one would say those two are more mundane compared to this, they will always be classy and classic and not embarrassing to ride in no matter the environment. This car is clearly not intended for those type of people which are also the same type of people who were traditional bmw enthusiasts. Let's see if this sells after the first year? For now it seems like it leans too much towards being a Toyota against Porsche and Mercedes which seems like the wrong direction to lean in this segment. But maybe BMW has given up and wants to go more low end as they might see a market somewhere below the boxster and benz?

Concept wins by a mile!
the way the hood lines cut to the grill is so sweet on the concept.

Needs some accent lines going from the front of the hood towards the windshield. Similar to the concept just not so wide and pronounced. I don't think that picture is doing it any justice. Way too much red and not doing anything. Just flat on the hood and fenders. The intakes I like, just so much red lol.

2) In the Car and Driver review, BMW admitted that they screwed up by adding the weight and making the car too soft 3) No trunk space at all with top down 4) Yes the Japanese actually had a hand in this. The Toyota Supra is basically a Z4 with no folding roof and Japanese styling and a different badge. |

Placing the hood line wrong (production car) totally trashes the appearance of a car. Also, not a fan of the ‘vertical’ headlights |

Everything is wrong with the hood. Maybe that's what makes the headlights look out of sorts. Otherwise it looks like nothing special if that was the intent.

I'd like to see a front 3/4 view, but so far I like it. Plus it looks like that's just the 30i M Sport, not even the M40i (no Cesium Gray bumper accents or mirror caps), so that should look even better. The hood cut line is disappointing but realistically there was no way the concept was making it to production. The only thing from the concept that I know I'll miss on the production version is the double buttresses behind the seats. Not sure why those didn't make production -- since that panel is purely aesthetic they could've easily given it some shape instead of making it flat.

cut lines of hood are terrible. they completely cheapen the look of the car. exactly the reason I never purchased an F30. I'll keep my Z3.

The headlights and hood line are horrible.
