Page 248 of my manual says the break-in period is 1200 miles, not to go above 4500 rpm's, do not use Launch Control, avoid full throttle or kickdown and engage the clutch gently for the first 300 miles.

I am a low mileage driver and my SA told me to change my oil once a year or every 10,000 miles.

Is there a break-in service at the 1200 mile mark?

This is not an M motor so I gets the normal breakin/service.

Thank you for the answers

Some suggest a special form of „ breakin in the brakes…“

But here it reads just to be gentle on the breaks for 500km.
So I guess no specific break in procedure for the discs

Just avoid really hard braking. 😉

So, I'm in the middle of long-distance ordering a Handschalter Z4 and maybe one of you can answer this question: The dealer sent me a build sheet for me to sign and send back. It has both the manual/Handschalter package and the Shadowline package - but the latter is only $550 and the only thing under it is LED headlights.

So, is it correct that to get the LED lights with the Handschalter package, you have to order the Shadowline package for $550? i.e. the Handschalter package doesn't include LED's?

The only thing you’ll get adding ZHO (Shadowline Package) will be ‘552’ (Adaptive Full LED Lights), so you’ll want to pick it up if you want the blackened lights to keep everything cohesive. The mirror caps & extended are already included with ZED as mentioned, thus why it’s reduced to just $550. HTH.

The base headlights are also LED. The difference is the adaptive feature.

Go to this thread, page 5. I posted some info/pictures about the adaptive feature for someone last weekend.

Just put in my order. Can't wait!

- skyscraper grey with magma red interior
- driving assistance package, ambient lighting, harman kardon, and wireless charging.

Question - What is the M Rear Sport Differential? I've read earlier that this car came with torque vectoring rear diff?

The rear axle assembly is now borrowed from the BMW M240i, including its rear M differential.

Can we talk deals? The dealer I have 20 year relationship with and bought 3 new cars from, is offering me $3k off. Is it good or is it what nowadays? My F10 was had at $500 under ED invoice back when ED was a thing.

3k off sounds good since some are being quoted MSRP

Probably pretty solid for an M40. If anyone is looking for a 30i, the broker I used for my car is offering 7% of MSRP.

Want to love this color combo. Yet, still arguing with myself: wouldn't cerium wheels be classier? Red interior is striking, but how will it hold? I have the Ivory Napa in my F10, and even with painstaking maintenance it shows it's age after 10 years. Yet. black is dull, and Alcantara patches are all in the wrong places. Black interior and, Jeez, black wheels! looks too gangsta to me, even though it confirms to the general color matching principle of never having more than three colors. Green with red (calipers or rear lights) just don't mix except during Christmas. Decisions, decisions...

The magma is an orange flavor of red. None of the colors will hold up well over 10 years in a roadster without good maintenance, but magma or black are probably a safe bet. The cerium wheels, I’ve been told, are not a great look when dirty. Black look a different shade of awesome when dirty. Black on black is not gangsta imo esp with a non-black exterior. I would just get whatever appeals to you and not worry too much about it.
