It's drivable, the repair shop said it could take a few weeks before the parts are in. This weekend I'll try to polish out some of the scratches so it isn't so noticable.

My thoughts exactly, I got the car used so there were some chips on it already.

No, they are not run flats, they were a few hundred less than the Pilot Super Sports and so far I like them, price at BMW were comparable to tire rack and BMW recommended them. I have 17" Blizzack run flats for winter, they have a noticeably harsh ride.

Yes but building management said to not get my hopes up as the system is not the best, they are looking though.

Keep your fingers crossed that they find the culprit. Hopefully they can identify the vehicle, this is a hit and run and the police need to be involved.

Good luck and glad your even tempered about it. No sense in getting upset on what you cannot control.

My experience has been, if hit in a parking lot you are on your own. Police won’t even make a report.

If there is a security video and the vehicle can be identified wouldn't it still be considered a hit and run?

Around 5 years ago, my car was backed into in a dealer's parking lot (southern Illinois). The police came and made a report which I filed with my insurance company.

I'm sure it varies state to state and perhaps even city to city but IMHO it's always worth checking.

Drove with the top up for the first time, yesterday. Simply to try it out, I promise! (It was extremely quiet, with no wind noise at all, but then it’s still pretty new). If it isn’t raining, then the top is down. Temperature plays no part in it - tires are what decide to drive in what temperature.

When I used to live in NYC I would drive with the top down when the temperature was at least 45 degrees and it was a sunny day. People would stare at me but I was totally comfortable wearing a leather jacket, a baseball cap and driving gloves.

In fact, I once stopped at a red light in Manhattan and started a conversation with a lady waiting to cross the street who complimented me on how beautiful my Samoa Blue '94 325i convertible looked. We started dating after I invited her to join me for a cup of coffee.

BMW is definitely "The Ultimate Driving Machine"

Got my Winter wheels fitted today. Not the biggest fan of the rims (from previous owner) but they'll have to do.

Summer tires are done.

It was you 😁😁 I saw you at a stop light in Rutland Vt at about 11:15 am that day while out for my run. I was waving and giving a thumbs up wishing I had gone for a ride instead.

I'd guess about 15000 miles. With some unexplained traction issues from time to time..

If that’s the summer tire that came off, I might be able to spot the ‘unexplained traction issue’.

I installed mine like the Supra, between the liner and fender. However I did have to trim the inner guard surface slightly so the holes I didn’t have to drill would line up. …forgot to mention this

I ended up mounting them on the outside. They are still quite rigid. The extra holes are annoying me, though. I will probably buy some generic flaps from rallyArmor and cutting my own with correct hole locations. And probably modify the shape, slightly.

On, and since we are talking about mods…I added the door projector lights (the ‘M’ and BMW logos). I chose the ‘M’.

Hey Kevin!

I'm sorry to read about the two vehicles. Most importantly, you and your family are OK

Congratulations on the two new vehicles. Hopefully everything is back normal at the beach home. You are always missed on Acurazine! Heading to BMW plant for my birthday in two weeks. Wifey is pushing us to get a new M3.

Thanks. We had the place cleaned up the next day only hits were the cars & beach buggies.

Insurance was fair with the claims. Expedition Max is working out nicely, Jeep is on order & picking up a buggy this weekend. So at the end of the day all is well.

Only my son in law & I were at the house during the storm. Wife was back home in Raleigh.

BMW plant is an amazing place, it is the global supplier of all the X vehicles & BMW's largest plant. If you get a new ordered BMW take the free BMWPCD delivery option. Its at the same location & a really fun day.
