I would also start a thread in our General BMW News and Cars Discussion forum warning our fellow members that BMW Norwood, MA is trying to ripoff people with this ADM practice and to stay clear of them. https://g29.bimmerpost.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=133 |

Looks like I'm paying MSRP. My dealer wouldn't go down, claimed others want their first allocation as well. I can't verify or deny if that's true, but it seems MSRP isn't a bad deal.
No way I'd pay +10k. As much as I would like the car I think it's currently a bit of a stretch for what you get already. MSRP's about 5k lower seem more in line with what you get, but I guess that's an opinion and for a different thread. |

I’m glad you passed and if i was told that by my salesman I would never buy another BMW ever again. They need to stand against the dealers ripping people off and if they refuse to stop the mark ups they should pull their dealership rights permanently. That would stop the rest from doing the same.

I did Euro Delivery in 2014...and two PCD's since....if ONLY Euro Delivery was still available! Highly recommend PCD...you don't have to worry about your local dealer "touching" your new BMW or running it through their "scratch-o-matic" car wash!

While not a fan of most dealers, i don't have a big problem with them asking ADMs. I just move on....
As a small business owner myself, i would not want someone threatening bad reviews, etc simply because i choose to price my services/product a certain way. I'm the one risking my capital on inventory, infrastructure, saleries, etc. Now not being upfront and honest about pricing or other junk fees is a different story. Bait and switch is something that drives me crazy. There are dozen of bmw dealers within a day's drive of most anywhere in the US. Just take your business elsewhere, they'll learn their lesson, eventually. You can always use the most convenient dealer for service.

Knew this would happen
This kind of thing will never stop in this country. Its supply and demand capitalism. My sense is even though BMW said they would build as many manual Z4s as they have orders for that depends on how many orders they get. They only have so many slots at Magna Styr to build this car including the automatics. If they get 2X the interest in the car there may be people who dont get cars. On top of that there is like no inventory of Z4s in the US to soak up some of the demand. I expect BMW to stop taking manual orders eventually for MY25. I ordered very early because I expected the ADM thing to happen. This car costs $75K when a comparable Boxster GTS is $100K. The dealers know the market.

I think I f’d up my order. I test drove a ‘23 automatic from Murray BMW in Salt Lake City last month and decided to order one - and from them, figuring that the warm weather drive home to Wisconsin would make a nice trip. Plus, they said that they already had 2 Handschalter orders in which made me think that allocations were not an issue. I sent them a $2k non refundable deposit - which was stupid in retrospect. I now see that a deposit should have been made after an allocation was secured.
To all of you who have an allocation, did you get confirmation directly from BMW, or just from your dealer? |

As an unsold allocation, they were in the system as Status 111. Once it was marked as sold to a customer, they jumped to Status 112. If it doesn't have a Production Number, there is no allocation.

Mine says,
“status: 047 - spec released- no quota avail” …which sounds like I have a non refundable deposit on a car for which they have no allocation, correct? |

Was mentioned a few times "no production number at or a few days after purchase" no dealer allocation. They sold you a car they have no claim on & have no idea when they will get one. I expect they have also not said if you are #1 in the G29 order bank or if anyone is ahead of you.

Pretty vague tbh, but the lack of new allocations being talked about on this thread makes it seem like we are in (hopefully temporary) limbo as the production process ramps up. Are they still taking orders on 2024 automatics? |

My understanding of what that dealer is saying does not line up with what is being said in this forum. |

So, I guess that if I am in the same situation as many many others, then I can understand the shortage of allocations while they are being rolled out. But I might start calling around, too, because I hate not knowing if I will even get one.
