I'm still at Production Begins, been there a while. I've got a VIN and all that so it's real but just not seeming to move very quickly. I'll have to be patient.
It would be interesting to visit the plant. See the production line and so on but also see how many they build a day and how many orders they have. I'm sure there's not a zillion new orders or anything but if they build low volumes like 30 a day or something then almost any increase is huge. |

Slow getting my VIN. Already in paint shop. Does a June delivery look possible?
Am I correct that no 'ZED' package cars have made it to US, yet? Loved to see pictures, |

400 over 3 months and let's say 5 days a week is... like 6 Z4's a day. Wow, even fewer than I thought. I'd also be curious to know if they intermix Z4's and Supra's, switch over from one to the other every so often, if they batch paint colors... |

You do realise (I hope) that the Z4 is also sold outside the US and are all manufactured in the same plant in Austria. So actual daily production is higher. I have seen figures - if my old memory is not mistaken - between 4k and 5k of Z4’s per year. That would give around 20 daily.

Now that you pointed that out, I wonder if perhaps my earlier thoughts of 1500 cars a quarter was for global sales. I'll share if I find the data. ***edit*** https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/bmw-z4-sales-figures/ Are European sales really so high? If so, on a good year it could be something like 10k cars per year or so with US, Canada, and Europe combined. Call that 40 a day. Last edited by tracer bullet; 04-03-2024 at 04:37 PM.. |

In my hometown (14k people) a wild guess would be that there are at least two or three G29’s driving around. So I see them often.
And you proved that my memory stating 4k to 5k was wrong (and old). 10k per year is probably a closer figure. |

My dealer says I'm second on their list for when they get an allocation. I told them I wanted to order as soon as it was announced in December and gave a $1k deposit.
The anticipation is killing me, kind of like being a little kid at Christmas. |

You might consider calling other dealerships in your area, or anywhere that you might have friends or family that could put you up for the night if you were to fly somewhere to get the car. Nothing to lose by trying. You might get lucky and someone's got an allocation with no takers. There's also a post in this section of the forum with a car available. I think it's far enough along that you'd need to take what they asked to have built, but if I remember right it's a Thundernight / Magma red and basically loaded. |

While waiting for my oil service I walked over to talk with my sales guy. He said, what I think has already been shared here…
Only 30 Z4 allocations have been released so far. Of those, only 8 are being shown as available (not customer ordered). He also mentioned that the delay we had at the port in Europe was due to logistical issues due to shipping concerns around the Middle East due to the political unrest. Looks like ours should be here around the middle of May.

I’m sure (or hoping) that production increases as we go.

You've inspired me to start contacting other dealerships in nearby cities to see if anyone may have one, but So far no luck. Fingers crossed. |

It is a shame that the BMW USA website limits us to a 100 mile radius when doing new car searches while the MINI USA site allows nationwide searches for new car inventory. 👎🏻

Interesting, I never tried it. For CPO stuff when I was considering a last gen M2 you can do nationwide.
I guess you could grab a zip code from every major city. Or find a list of dealerships and type in their zip codes, perhaps one that's not in a major city would be a candidate. Tedious work of course. Depends how badly you want one! |
