That "23 number" sounds like it was misleadingly presented in a way in which they're trying to make MSRP sound like a deal.

How would an individual dealer even know the “23” number for the whole of the USA? I doubt BMW would share such information or necessarily know the number at the present time.

Exactly, it sounds like a BS speech from the salesman.

Some of our members had to go to other dealers to place their orders because the sales person at their first dealer was totally clueless.

Also the model code 25ZB is for the M40i. It's not specific to the manual Z4. For all we know they could be dealer inventory orders of automatics. For a better or more relevant search result to this thread, I'd ask him to run the search with option ZED included. Let's see how many pops up.

Edit: Also curious about how many are in Priority 1. I think that's code for customer sold orders.

Allocations for manual M40i vehicles are not separate from allocations for the automatic though, so you can take an automatic allocation and modify the build.

Priority 1 is customer sold. And Priority 9 is customer sold w/PCD.

So the 23 is unsold allocations. If they started production at the average rate for last year, there'd be roughly 150 allocations per month.

Seems to say currently 23 vehicles match the search. But I don’t see anything to say that 23 vehicles is a whole years allocation? Maybe next month that number will be 50?

Went with portimao finally and cognac interior.

Really loved the green in direct sunlight,but most of the time it looks black without any metallic effect.

In a German forum I read that San Remo doesn’t have the metal flakes mixed into the paint but on a layer above the green- hence it lacks the depth of portimao blue. Portimao shows the lines better in the shadow, whereas San Remo „swallows“ them. In the sun however San Remo is glorious.

I got an order in on Feb 19 and am waiting for an allocation from (what I think is) the biggest dealer in New England. I have been surprised by how I have not seen anyone post about a new allocation in about a month.

I ‘think’ the next round will be towards the end of next week/early start of following, (~Mar 21st-26th, give or take). I’m pulling that out of my backside, but seems to coincide with my understanding of it being around that timeframe. /shrug

We placed our order/047 on Feb 10th, we’re up next if our dealer gets one. Otherwise, fingers crossed for end of April, the wait just makes the reward sweeter.

(We did pick up our personalized plates at the tax office last week though, so I can at least stare at them in my office in the interim, lol)
