Montway Auto Transport coordinated the pickup and delivery.

No complaints from me as the car was picked up and dropped off at reasonable times, and delivered in the same condition in which it was picked up.

The driver was a subcontractor for the company. He also contracts with customers directly, I believe. I’ll PM you his name & number in the event you want to connect with him as he drives all over the country. He mentioned that hard-side trucks, like his, are the best for keeping dust and grit from getting on transported cars, unlike soft-sided carriers which tend to suck dust inside.

Got mine back from the detailer yesterday. It already had XPEL but added a ceramic coating on top now, including the rims.

Makes washing much easier :-)

A little protection goes a long way!

Most shops recommend that you wait about 2 weeks before you wash your car after ceramic coating is applied. Also make sure that you only use PH neutral car wash products on the ceramic!

It wasn't today, I was holding off posting until I got the splitter done too, but I'm lazy and that's not done yet.

AC Schnitzer spoiler added.

Installed some RW carbon bits.

These parts are from RWcarbon with more on the way. I've never been much for carbon but I must say that on the Z4 not only do the extra bits complete the package in my view but the carbon also accents it very well too! I'll try and get more pics soon. I'm still trying to figure out how to post them straight.

Went by the appliance store this morning to buy a new fridge (major annoyance.) When we walked out to the car to leave, we all-of-a-sudden had 4 salesmen and a lady standing there gawking/commenting/asking questions. That Thundernight roadster stands out.

With us getting into the rainy season, (and already on my list anyway), I ditched the OEM carpeted floor mats. Was planning to go with either Weathertech, (our go-to for years on all vehicles), or take a plunge & try Tuxmats. Welp, ended up just going with the BMW OEM all-weather thanks to prior pics from folks here.

Gotta say, not too shabby! If we lived in a snow-prone area, and/or got enough rainy days, I’d likely want more/deeper channels/lips ala the aftermarket competitors, but for our CenTex region weather, I think these will do great.

(Also had to upgrade our dying Dustbuster, lol. Since I’ve been getting the stink-eye for recent purchases, opted to not buy a car-specific vac, and bought “something for the house”…..uh-huh, lol. Got a deal on a Dyson V10 Animal cordless. Thing is a beast! Now I need to buy the flexible hose to make things easier, it never stops).

At the dealer this AM getting my annual warranty maintenance service.

The pleasant intake person offered to rotate the tires and wash the car. I don’t think they see too many frozen paint Z4s ‘round these parts.

He seriously said rotate the tires when the fronts and rears aren't the same?

I totally agree that the hard sided trucks are the best way to transport cars long distances but it is far more expensive to use this method.

When I moved my CLK500 from NYC to south Florida I used a totally open double decker car carrier truck and my SA at MB in Manhattan advised me to pay extra to be placed on top level of the car carrier. He informed me that on these long hauls, fluid and oil leaks can develop from the cars riding on top and spill on the vehicles underneath. In addition, the cars on the lower level are more exposed to flying road debris.

He said that paying a little extra would be a wise investment and help to protect the ragtop's fabric and the paint on my MB and I took his advise.

Non directional tires can be swapped side to side. Depending where you drive, if it includes a lot of on and off ramps, this can be good (front left tire can get worn faster)

Yeah. . I don’t know for sure but suspect that unless it’s an M model they may not think to check whether the tire/wheel combo is staggered.

When I asked if they had the right wash for frozen paint the answer was, “probably not.”

In two years of ownership my Z4 has never been washed at a BMW dealership because they never have matte paint safe soap. 😂

NGL, i'd have giggled at him. Can't rotate the tires, and the folks by me don't do a great job washing. NOW if they wanted to check the alignment on my tires for free I'd say YEAAAH BUDDY!

Funny you should mention this, but they did offer to do a 4 wheel alignment for $225.

Also learned that I’m at just over 3/32nds tread depth left F&R on the OEM original tires at just a hair under 10k miles. Was hoping to get closer to 12k miles, or more, based on other posters experience. I suppose it’s because I like to push the G meter over the .80G ring on twisty roads.

Totally agree! Many years ago my son and I were out driving somewhere on a Sunday and saw a car carrier in an empty parking lot loading a new one. Driver put an old MGB right over a new Chrysler convertible with a white roof!!

My dealer does a free alignment check if you arrive before 10:30 in the morning. 👍🏻
