In this house, the decision will go to committee and House vote. I’ve initiated HB 101, dad must be happy. I have a sales guy, I’m going to get a test drive. We’ll see.

Post Script, my sales guy is sending me numbers on purchase vs lease.

If you have it in your budget, test drive the M40i. If not only test drive the 30i. 😉

I purchased a 2020 Masano Blue Metallic m40i back in 2019. Still own it. Love it. Have to admit, that red is very beautiful. Also, for around $3.5K more, you can order a manual. Tempting, but I'm not going to bite because I still enjoy the car I own. Have to admit, if I didn't already have one, I would order one in that color with the manual transmission.

Brethren,

Do me the assist. How much should I be negotiating down? They stepped down 8%.

8% off MSRP? Take that all day. That’s the lowest I’ve seen in a looong time on these cars.

What is the current advertised rate on BMW’s website?

Many dealers like to add an additional 1% to that rate. This happened to me and I refused to pay that extra point and the finance manager finally surrendered and lowered their quote.

Is $72,330 the sales price after the 8% discount? How is that possible? The most expensive Z4 I could spec was $77,720 including destination. Are you getting other add-ons tacked on and then being counted in the discount percentage?

Something wrong with the numbers.

Repayment schedule comes out to $82,812. over 60 months. Did not really go into the numbers because I don't know what the taxes etc are.

So these are a rough quick & dirty:

Off the cuff paying back just the principal of $56,546.36 ($72,330 - 8% - $10,000) over 60 months should account for $924.00 of the payment.

That leaves $456.00 to cover interest, tax etc. That is $27,372 over 60 months.

This is BMW's numbers at my dealer with a $73,000 MSRP $10,000 down no discount

Finance $1,031.37 / month
Down Payment $10,000
Terms 60 Months @ APR 5.29%

Yeah, math doesn’t add up here. It’s hard to tell what’s buried in their total payment without a more detailed breakdown.

This really should now be in your driveway…..but buy buy it’s only money, you’ll make more!

But yea get a better breakdown of the numbers as others have said.

Guessing sales tax, dealer fees etc are adding another 6k+ to that 72k selling price. So even with 10k down the finance will be close to 70k

Here is the dealer’s listing.

https://www.newcenturybmw.com/invent...f9c02rwy36465/

According to my calculations a 8% reduction = $68,383, less the $10k down payment = $58,383 that would need to be financed.

Note to OP, according to their website the same dealer has 2023 Portimao Blue/ Magna Red M40i which is a CPO and only has been driven 652 miles about to be available for $72,220. You might be able to get a better deal on it.

https://www.newcenturybmw.com/invent...9c07pwy02406/.

You should check this PB/MR beauty out and also do your homework and see if there any other dealers in your area that have any low mileage CPO’s as you would get a much better bang for your buck.

Also with any dealer you need to inquire about any discounts you might be entitled to such as being a recent college graduate (24 months), military discount or a return BMW customer.

If they truly are getting 8% off MSRP on a new one, that gets very close to those low mileage CPOs (and I'd go that way). Especially if it also applies to custom orders.

But who knows what type of discount the OP can get on a CPO until he negotiates. 😉

$67,330 is a good selling price, as long as they're not forcing you to take any of those.other add-ons (up to you to decide if they're worth it) or mark up your interest rate.

Yeah, I’d take this. That’s a really good price for this. Looks like it’s pretty loaded too. Only options I see it doesn’t have are ACC and the Moonlight top.

Skip the extended warranty, then tell the sales guy: Shut up and take my money!

Now I'm questioning my decision to spend extra $7k for a manual...

This thread is crazy. From the OP just seeing one for the first time, and then pivoting within a day or two to buying one (hopefully) :-) Such a good looking car, it sure does attract people.

That’s a good price! Say no to extended warranty…..I think BMW gives you options to extend when the factory warranty is ending.
