In Europe they are legal if your car was produced before July 1999.

Yellow fog lights were popular in the US back in the ‘70s. I had a set on my ‘71 MGB. They later grew out of favor.

you have to take the wheels off, wheelwell trim, and the side trim in the engine bay to access it. Other thant that just plug and play

State statutes would dictate the legality, however. In KY, any light to the front must be white or amber. Headlights must be white.

Added one thing, noticed one thing, ordered one thing.



Added - Multicolored Z4 windscreen. Bought through Amazon for the $100 off deal.


Noticed that the braces originally black have turned sort of purple. Been on the car since Beta Test about 2.5 years


Ordered - from Ali Babba? $140 yellow color. Should arrive end of the month.

BMW its 77*F today. Exercised both two seaters daughter stole the 4 seater.

Will not squeal on her to her Mom but when we were in Mexico this morning she shut down a C8 buy 4 car lengths over about a 10 second or so WOT run.

She is pretty good for a 50+ year old lady, finally took the old guy out last BMWCCA M day at Greer. I put the car in the dirt on a tight turn sort of screwed up any chance of a good time.
Will never live that down.

Think they are illegal but not enforced. The Hellcats come with RED ones so if its a legality issue I think the Blue or Red you see on a lot of cars would be an issue.

Regardless if you got a ticket it would be a "fix-it" which is just a board swap, about 20 minutes for the Z4 & longer for some other BMW's. No commonality in the boards across the product line.

The Dinan brace discoloration is disappointing. I was going to order black ones when my car arrives. Maybe not.

Those are BMS (Burger Motorsport) braces, not Dinan.

Believe they changed color sometime in the last year. Were black when I went in for the annual inspection & oil change etc last year. As stated they are BMS parts.



This what they looked like when installed. Might respray them black, not terribly important as the last time I opened the hood & really looked around was getting ready for the Feb 2023 inspection.

Main goal was to put bar stock in to replace the baby chair braces not to add bling.

20 min job? Hmm, can you document the procedure. I like the yellow DRL look too.

Per side. There is a video on YOUTUBE for the Z4 PITA to find. Most of the work is done from the top.

FWIW the Z4 is among the easiest cars to work on. Two cards one per side. Other cars have multiple cards per side



The two plastic panels need to be moved out of the way. BMW in their pursuit of crazy tech uses a number of different bolts. trim fasteners & screws to hold them on.

The Heat Sinks are opened up, some screws, disconnect the wire plug, then the hard part remove the control card from the heat sink which has thermal glue on it.

Clean the heat sink, alcohol is supposed to work. The Yellow light control cards are marked right & left are a drop in replacement. Plug in the wire. Glue is in the kit. Reassemble & let the glue set up.

Well if i go thundernight i will swap you a new set for the customer purple ones you currently have.

Yellow daylight driving light cards arrived. Will be a while before I get to install them. Nicely packed in a metal box.
