11 years old, still get compliments from people daily about how nice it is. Most people think the car is brand new. I love it so.

It's just such a simple car that does everything I want, such a joy to drive. Might get a supercharger kit for it in the Spring and if so, it's all I'll ever want or need in a car.

New Supra better be good!!

Love ur car

I loved the 1st gen Z4 and also love mine too...too bad they couldn't combine the sporty/compactness of the former w/ the lux/tech of the latter.

The soft-top is a srs regression and a dealbreaker imo.

+1. They're not only unsightly but also unsuitable for places like the Middle East where it's scorching for most of the year. The fabric ends up looking like a decade old rag in a year or two. No thanks!

Any idea when this car is going to be revealed? It's sad that we have all this information on the countless SUV's BMW is coming out with the next few years but barely anything on one of the only true sports cars in their lineup. Let's hope it has the looks and driving dynamics to compete with the Porsche 718 Boxster. And hopefully we get a new z5 coupe after a 10 year hiatus!

I would never consider this car with a soft top. Please bring a hard top coupe to market.

Agreed x1000000

Also this would be an unbelievable car if they made the back a little more like the spy shots of the Supra I like the proportions on that a lot more in my opinion. If it had that bigger/taller back and wider with an ///M badge on it and an S58 we'd be in prettttyyyyyyy good shape here I think. Keep all the bullshit out. Just give us apple car play (my opinion I like it) and AC and some nice lightweight seats that can be used as a dd like the ZCP seats and it would be a car I'd pay a lot for without a doubt...............

One can dream right??

Omg your car looks awesome! Attention to detail is great. Did you wrap the windshield and pillars in carbon fiber or...?

This car is the devil. A bmw "sports car" made on the cheap by partnering with of all companies Toyota. Fml.

We will be told it's the greatest car of all time. Initial reviews will say it's great. Then after a few months the truth will seep in. Weve been round this rodeo before.

Don't tell me not to be pessimistic till I drive it. Bmw has messed up a whole host of cars lately and I can't see how sharing costs with Toyota somehow fixes things

Bmw roadsters are absolute icons just as much as the 3 series. The z3 was an icon. The z8 was an icon very much in the tradition of the 507 coupe. The z4 was a design icon par excellence. A shared platform car with a Toyota something like a Mitsubishi 3000gt vs dodge stealth. Please.

Since we are dumping icons, can we share the next m3 with Kia. I'm sure it would be profitable

I like the fact it is soft top. Gives BMW more reasons to actually produce a fixed roof coupe. I have zero interest in another hard top convertible, that are banned from BMWCCA driving events.

....The rear has dropped some camouflage, exposing the tail light design for the first time. Finished exhaust tips can now also be seen, along with a rear diffuser. Compared to earlier prototypes, this one likely sports a larger air vent behind the front wheels as the camouflage covering it now flares out dramatically.

One oddity is that this prototype is RHD.

Why RHD is odd. I have been driving on the "RIGHT" side for >20 yrs.
O no.......soft top inevitable!

Not digging this half analogue half digital cluster thing BMW has going on. I mean, only the dials are digital, but the numbers aren't. JUST MAKE THE WHOLE THING DIGITAL!

Z is the new vanilla

Z is meant to be radical but this seems like another conservative product when the brand needs to create an icon or hero.

I hope they will make it look as nice as the drawings Scott showed us when this product was running the rumour mill.

Exactly, they could've done a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better job. Everything is 1/2-assed, e.g. idrive behind other series, engines should be *noticeably* better than other series, NOT comparable or even weaker!!! ...and stop making the freaking cars bigger/heavier/softer!!! This is supposedly the sportiest series and least practical (read: carefree) of all Bimmers.
