Pre Purchase inspection on a '22?

I'm interested in this Z4 and was wondering what everyone's opinion is on not doing a PPI on a car with only 2500 miles and 3.5 years of warranty left? I'm having a hard time locating a shop in Mobile, AL that can get this in in timely for one and I don't necessarily want waste $$ on some company like Lemon Squad. Salesman says former owner traded in 2 cars including this. The only concern I have that's visible is it has Continentals on it and not OEM Michelins with such low mileage-no report of tire change on Carfax. Nothing on Carfax stands out.

Anyone know of a service in AL that handles Mobile area?

The Continentals are OEM too. Some of the new cars have these in place of the Michelins.

Edit: You can see the * on the picture of the wheel/tire. Means it’s BMW OEM.

Has been known as the PSS lottery. Some cars come through with Continentals instead of the Michelin and are also very good tires. Its a "just in time" supply thing on the build. The Star on the sidewall says they are BMW OEM tires.

I wouldn’t bother with a PPI on such a low mileage vehicle with warranty unless it potentially came from a flood region, unfortunately something you may not be able to discover. That would be my primary concern, a flood vehicle. They can slip through the cracks undetected but inspections can easily detect hidden clues.

I did a PPI on mine with 2600 miles on it. I used Lemonsquad.com. They seem to have people all over the place. I'm very particular and their report was even more detailed than I expected...

$200 for a professional inspection vs $54,000 car...Seems like easy math to me.

Alternatively, maybe you get lucky here and someone is in the area that can put eyes on it.

Also, looks like sensatek seats and no HK, but I'm not certain from these photos. You should check if either of those are issues for you.

No HUD, that is a big missing feature IMO.

This is a 2022 and the dealer’s listing says it has the Premium Package. HUD was included in my 22’s model which had the Premium Package.
The OP can always call and verify.

There’s no HUD on this. You can tell from one of the pictures where you are looking at the front of the car. The HUD has a cutout in the dashboard. Most be one of the Covid supply chain models without.

This is the view from the rear with the top down and you can see the cutout in the dashboard.

The details in the listing does confirm Sensatek seats.

I stand corrected. It definitely looks like it doesn’t have it in one of the pictures, but this is a better view. Thanks!

I'd do it too. Or certainly would want to. Looks like there's a BMW dealer in Mobile, AL. I'd try to have them have a look.

I know that's easier said than done if it's a long ways from home... The dealership might be willing to have someone go get it, or perhaps the selling dealership would let you hold it and then you fly down, inspect it, drive it back? That brings up the question if you plan to do that or ship it.

I also would bet it's a good car without any issues. I would still feel better inspecting it though.

That only affected the s30i models such as mine, not M40i. Looking at the sticker, you would see a Premium Package 2 (minus the HUD) rather than a Premium Package.

Another way to independently verify a BMW vehicles specifications at build is to use a VIN Decoder. I use this website: https://www.mdecoder.com/. Just input the vehicle's VIN and it'll tell you the build specs.

It does have HUD and HK.

It appears to have everything other than wireless charging (no loss IMO) and adaptive cruise control (which is not very common but was something I wanted.)

The Monroney says it came with wheel locks. Make sure the key is present. It may be in the glove box or console, but there is a place for it with the tools (tow hook and an Allen wrench for the roof) and mobility kit in the right rear of the trunk under the panel.

When I picked up my car at the dealer the key for my wheel locks was in that tool section that is located in the right rear trunk.
