Noise from the roof

Hi guys
Ive had my g29 for about a year and a half, and drive it everyday. Has 23000kms
Unfortunately the last couple of months, with the winter, when I start driving it, the rackiling noise in the roof in the metal structure just above my head is terrifying. Only when the car gets some sun and warm the noise stops!
Anyone else has had this issue?

Help….

Fortunately it appears from the lack of comments this is not a big problem. I learned from owning a Honda S2000 for 19 years that the most important thing you can do with a vert is apply Shinetsu grease to the rubber seals annually. My Z4 only has 2400 mi. but I recently noticed a little wind noise. A thin application of the grease quieted it immediately.
Your problem sounds much more severe but the grease is a cheap easy fix that MIGHT help.

You can use Wurth Ruber Care Spray. It will leave all the unions and sealings perfectly smooths without any tackling noise after it

Yes, I noticed the same issue 2 weeks ago. Last winter was without any problems. But it’s not the rubber. It seems to be the really the structure of the roof. If I press the roof hard over my head, then it’s quiet again.

If its still under warranty give the dealers service a shot at it. Seems rare but it seems to happen so it should affect the other convertible models. Dealers should have seen the problem before.

I‘ve finally find the solution..now is quiet.
You have to remove the plastic part (nr 1 on the picture) which is hold by 4x2 clips.
2 clips are connected to the internal headliner. They must be removed. Then you will see a „wire“, which holds the first layer of the headliner. You have to remove it on the side where you hear the noises ( in my case the driver side). And then you will see the next layer with a „wire“ and that makes the noises. I put a small rubber between the wire and the roof (marked with red).

Hi all,
I’m experiencing the same noise coming from the roof on the driver’s side when the temperatures are below 15 degrees of Celsius.
Could you please describe a little bit more which clips must be removed in order to get to the “wires” that generate that awful sound? Pictures would be the best to describe the necessary steps.
Thanks a lot in advance..
