Bahrain GP has been pushed back to November 2012.
Quote:
Bernie Ecclestone has agreed to delay the 2012 Bahrain GP until 3 November in order to give the country more time to recover.
Bahrain was dropped from the 2011 calendar after political unrest resulted in the deaths of several protestors as well as the arrest of many others.
The island kingdom's race is set to return next season with a provisional calendar that was released in June giving the Bahrain GP a March date.
However, Ecclestone has now provisionally delayed the race until 3 November.
"They didn't want it up the front so I've had to screw the whole calendar up," the F1 supremo told the Financial Times.
A spokesman for the Bahrain International Circuit has welcomed the delayed date.
"We are extremely happy to host the grand prix in November," he told the FT.
"Due to high temperatures in our summer, either early or late in the season is better. November is the best month for us."
