Hm, its less a specific weapon its more the ability to just walk into a store and buy any if I want.
I would love to have e.g. a G36K or a SIG552 but when I take a look into my cabinet there are already enough stuff to enjoy at the range so its more "please my desire" buy, so to speak.

Got it! Some states in the union are more free than others. There are a lot of firearms a civilian in California cannot own, but are accessible to patriots in neighboring states. I can buy off-roster firearms as long as I'm an active LEO. At retirement I will lose that ability and be subjected to the same purchase restrictions as a civilian (…unless I pay 3x the price on CalGuns).
