I went by a large Mercedes Benz dealer today, and they have nothing that competes with the Z4 or this concept coupe. The SL is pretty, but it's large and heavy and in Porsche 911 pricing territory $165k+(and that's for just the baby V8, the 55).
Other elegant options are the Lotus Emira and the 911 - no offense to 718 owners but the Cayman is hardly elegant. The concept Coupe looks much nicer than the Supra, highly doubt these are the same buyers.
I believe the market does have space for this coupe if they price it right, especially if BMW provides a manual option.
