You are correct. While they are the same diameter, they are different widths (wheels, not just tires.) Mine are 19" x 9.0" front and 19" x 10.0" rear.
All my Z4s (I've had one of each gen) and one 330i had staggered setups with different widths. And there are a few cars out there with different diameters front to rear. All my other cars (about a dozen) had square setups - all 4 wheels and tires were the same size.
