The dealership brought in a new fuel lid, but it had the same fitment issue plus it wasn't painted (by the dealer) as good as it could have been. Since it is plastic, they used a heat gun on the original to bend it a bit. I did not examine it too much, but the alignment seemed a lot better now.
Nobody has posted pictures of their front fender / hood alignment so I have to assume all are like this, until I see otherwise.

Hi Rob, I’m on a run of reviving old threads, apologies
Do you have other pics of your hood/bonnet misalignment as I can’t quite work out where you mean but on mine I’ve found the left hand side of the vehicle the edge of the bonnet where it meets the wing isn’t as flush as it is on the right side

As above, try adjusting the black stoppers underneath the bonnet. Turn slightly and if it makes things worse, turn a bit more the other way.
