Guys, this is why comparing Nurburgring times today is MEANINGLESS. The production car track record set by Porsche 911 GT3 RS? Special Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires formulated JUST for setting a single lap track record for Porsche.

I attended BMW's Ultimate Driving Experience a month ago, and guess what every single one of the car on the lot is shod with?

Michelin Pilot Sport 4.

Every. Single. One.

You think PS4s were standard issue tires on all the 530Es? Hardly.

They shod the Z4 M40i given to the test with the latest and greatest street-street tires Michelin makes, period. The Pilot Super Sports were already faster than R-Comps of yesteryear. The PS4s are even BETTER than the Super Sports.

Look. I took my car shod with factory fun-flats to a local track for some shake down laps, as I am fond to do for ALL my cars. In some of the turns it sustained 1.6G without me pushing the car. One. Point. Six. Gees. Let that sink in. Formula One race cars on race slicks in 199xs were pulling 1.6Gs in turns. Now cars with FACTORY FUN-FLATS pull sustained 1.6G in high speed turns.

Let that sink in. Really. These times are meaningless, as I am almost CERTAIN you slap on a set of MY factory fun flats in the right size on my old school MZ4 Coupe and you can watch it churn laps in the 7:5x range too. Nurburgring time has now become basically car manufacturer's d*ck waving contest, but instead of who REALLY has the biggest d*ck, it's who's got the best pharmacist (Michelin) that can provide the best Viagra like substance.

TAAAAYYYYYEEEEERRRRRSSSS!
