Nobody copies Honda? What car do you think McLaren used to copy and design their original F1? Why do you think Ferrari actually started making cars that last more than 30,000 miles without falling apart these days?
Here's what Gordon Murray said about the original NSX on his development of the F1

The moment I drove the 'little' NSX, all the benchmark cars–Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini–I had been using as references in the development of my car vanished from my mind," said Murray. "Of course the car we would create, the McLaren F1, needed to be faster than the NSX, but the NSX's ride quality and handling would become our new design target."

Btw, the new Ferrari will cost 8 times what the car they copied cost. It will also have a V8 and 1000 hp..... it better be faster
