Summer performance tire is the only option. But given that you are in Geneva IL, you may be able to work a set of winter tires &in wheels into the deal when you buy new if this is going to be your only car / 365 days car.
Honestly, I wouldn't bother with all seasons. It's not like you are castrating the car, but the early reports saying that BMW built the car around the tire aren't all complete marketing BS. Likewise, I wouldn't drive the car when it's below 30 or so (yes, I know, 45 degrees is the magic number, and I do stick to that, but in an emergency...), even if the roads are clear. And in our area it's not unusual to get down to the teens in January as you know.
