It was the fuel collector box that flared which is about 3 gallons of fuel. Had it been the entire cell he would have died.

From what I heard his fuel tank was completely ripped open ..
In the first sec. of the crash and explosion , I was convinced a driver died today..
I'm not religious , but it was a miracle !
