I'm all ears. The drag vs DF debate is a regular for any aerodynamic related topics or fluid dynamics for that matter. F1 obviously tries to optimize the balance between correct amount of down force to put enough pressure on the contact patch and air flow that will result in minimum turbulence with modest decrease in top-speed and acceleration.
It would be interesting to hear why you think the nose of the F1 doesn't make sense. I'm looking at the nose and I don't see any problem with it aerodynamically. Professional opinions will be appreciated.
