Also you can't conflate "solid feel" with overall long term reliability. They are very different things.
My dad had a Benz some years ago.
I was young but it was like driving a bank vault.
Felt like it was carved from a solid piece of steel.
I never drove a car that felt like that before.
It was also ALWAYS in the shop.
