I've been waiting a couple of weeks and did a nice 40km drive today and still nothing.
I contacted BMW Klantenservice who also said that the battery must be full as there are safety features enabled to ensure the update only works when the battery is full.

Picked the car up this morning from the Dealer having had the manual update completed. All happy now
