Conventional wisdom says to always park a warm gearbox in reverse, so that you don't have to crash a cold reverse next time you drive it! (Every one of my manual transmission vehicles have always been parked in reverse.)

On the original topic, my first job out of school required all employees to have parking stickers on their rear bumpers so the lot patrol could see them. So, I always pull in forward and never really thought about it.....
