You need to determine which apps you need to get work done and then see if they're available and usable on an iPad.
I'm actually the opposite. I only use my iPad Pro w/pencil or keyboard. I also have two other MacBook Pros, one older (personal) and then the latest model for work.

Pro w/keyboard allows me to do everything I need for personal use IMO. There isn't much I can't do with the pro for personal use plus its a lot lighter and easier to carry around.
What keyboard are u using?

I'll get the pencil for 100 bucks looks cool.
