And instead of a new Cayman GTS, I would look at a '15-16 GTS. However, similar to the 991.1, once you drive the flat 4 GTS, you will not be as impressed. Also some Porsche-files claim the flat six is just wonderful sounding but in order to get that sound, you have to really flog it all the time which just isn't feasible unless it's a track car. If you aren't opposed to flat 4, due to racism, you can get a great deal on a 17-19 Cayman/Boxster that will outperform almost anything out there.

Disclaimer: I own a C7 (waiting for C8) and a 718 Boxster.
I looked at 15-16 Cayman GTS but nothing much available. There are way more GT4s for sale but all are $85 - $100k.

I plan to look at 991.2 Carrera T and 991.1 GTS - both are significantly higher than $75k though. Porsche prices are crazy but these are CPO for 2 years and unlimited miles.

As far as C8 - if the Z06 gets a 5.5 NA V8, that would be my choice but this would be 2-3yrs down the road when all the hype dies down.
