The article has been corrected since it was first published. Apparently BMW are suggesting they’ll be targeting warranty ads at cars over 35 months old and that they’ll display a picture of a similar vehicle in the ad, but they won’t actually know whether those cars will have warranties or not.
I’m not a fan of any targeted ads, but at least they won’t be saying “Hey, John in the blue five series - your warranty has expired. Why not pay to extend it?”.
