I've see NOTHING in the 2+ months we've been here in CA that would make me want to pay the crazy prices they are asking for real-estate here. I think a lot of people (like my friend) live here because they think they don't have a choice (work, family etc), but the people who actually choose to live here because they love it and think it's worth the $$ it costs to live here are just freaking insane to me (unless you're stupid rich and money is of no concern to you, then knock yourself out).
