i was dead set on a manual 997 until i got a chance to test drive a base carrera and and an S on the same day. both nice but i found them a bit boring tbh. 997 gt3 is probably another story and worth it if u have the extra cash. in any case, make sure you test drive before you commit...you may be surprised to find you prefer your m3.
