But I do the majority of my work on my MacBook Pro or my iMac. The iPad is for meetings and such. You need to determine which apps you need to get work done and then see if they're available and usable on an iPad.

I’m actually the opposite. I only use my iPad Pro w/pencil or keyboard. I also have two other MacBook Pros, one older (personal) and then the latest model for work.
Pro w/keyboard allows me to do everything I need for personal use IMO. There isn’t much I can’t do with the pro for personal use plus its a lot lighter and easier to carry around.
