One story on that thread was the owner removed the tune and took his car for a non engine issue but they hooked up the OBD cable anyway and voided his warranty.

Even worse would be voiding the warranty for replacing the downpipes with a high flow catted DP...should have virtually nothing to do with the engine, but BMW has all the power.

I had a tech at my local BMW dealership tell me the same thing.

He said they might not notice initially but if they suspect something they can dig deeper somehow and see if it had ever been modified.

So there's a risk if something goes south they might not have to honor the warranty.
