For plinking wild animals, yes, an AR is likely better. And more fun. My .308 chambered AR-10 would do a number on coyotes, I imagine.

What i grab I could grab a pistol, AR, AK, but I grab the pump 12 gauge with 00 low recoil buck so I can stay on target. I keep 4 slug rounds in the stock speed mag so if I need one I have it.
