I dont see this as a bad thing, this a full featured luxury road car roadster vs a purpose built track car. I'd be happy with anything thats even close to the Type R in this kinda package.

Definitely the Civic Type R is fast car on track.
However, tire makes a huge difference for track time.
Fact that Honda does not specify what tire they used to set the record time seems suspicious
.
BTW, MPSS or MP4S is nowhere near the track purpose tire.
Compared to Bridgestone RE71r, it will be about about 1~2 seconds slower in 60 sec course. (can be more or less, depends on track)
