This is for petrol (gas) measured in Imperial Gallons. The US Gallon is about 20% less than an Imperial Gallon so you need to adjust your figures accordingly; so 30 mpg In the US is equivalent to about 36 mpg when using Imperial Gallons.

imperial mpg is right on the money then (8.7L/100km = 32.47 imperial mpg). I think you could do better since your car is lighter than mine, granted you do similar hwy/city driving, of course... then again you have a convertible so I wonder how much aerodynamics would affect it. Definitely not an apples to apples comparison.
