Use that phrase among others who ride, and they'll know you're not truly one of them ... in a way somewhat similar to misusing/confusing this:
- Two-wheeled BMW = Beemer
- Four-wheeled BMW = Bimmer
Also, to everyone else: Pics don't count unless the bike and the Bimmer (natch) are in the same shot. (Kudos to those who git it right!)

As a BMW rider for just short of 50-years (May 14, 1971), I've always found the "Bimmer" "Beemer" nonsense to be somewhat elitist, irrelevant, and just sounds stupid. How hard is it to say "BMW"?
If you give me until the weekend I might be able to show a bike and car in same shot but I own (currently) six BMW bikes, six BMW convertibles, and probably at least ten other BMW sedans and coupes from model year 1957 to 2013.
Here's the newest bike:
And here's a recent driveway shot showing some daily-drivers:
I've got a shot around here somewhere of my first, second, and third BMWs (two bikes and a car) all taken together back in 1972. I'll look for it after work.
Here it is. Probably taken in 1972. My first BMW on the left, next in the middle, and third on the right.
