Just a note...people who see our fancy cars taking up two parking spots want to damage our cars (at least in their minds). I understand we do this to prevent other doors and cars from hitting ours.
An Alternative to this, which I started doing 6 years ago with a new Prius, is to park diagonally in a single parking slot. So everyone has space and damage likelihood is still reduced. Our cars are small enough so this works perfectly.

Lol the place I parked is actually how we all park at work. The slanted lines (directional parking) was scratched by the GS-15 where I work because it limited parking spaces so we went back to bi-directional parking. New people don’t understand, but literally everyone parks exactly how I am (perpendicular to the curb). I wasn’t parking like a douche flute in this picture
I appreciate the advise though! I always make sure I’m parked within my lines with space on both sides and far out at public places to ensure the car stays damage free for the most part.
