Here are 2 reference points:

1- When I visited the BMW factory in Bavaria I say them take M3s off the line, pour ,motor oil in them, start them up on a Dyno and redline them through every gear up-shifting and down shifting and brake in the brakes on the dyno. I believe they did this to all cars as a function check.

2- When I did the BMW performance school in Thermal California all the cars were brand new M cars with less than 900 miles on them. They certainly were not babied.
