That is fake news. M8 GC will remain on the US market and you can still buy the other eight series body styles as M850i or 840i. Besides, people tend to forget that BMW doesn't just make cars for the US market.

F80NJM3 is correct. BMW should have done market research on that class of car, it is a very small niche that does not sell, even during its development the 6er of its time wasn't doing the best either, and a $100k+ car is a completely different market to cater to. And as much as I love MB, they should have as well, both the 8er and AMG GT4D (and even Panamera) are doing abysmally sales wise and likely will not receive a successor despite both being excellent vehicles, the market simply isn't there anymore.
