Lewis Hamilton raced at this circuit in seasons 2007-2011
His stats at this track:
- Race win in 2010
- Podium finishes (2)
- Front row starts (2)
- Laps led (30)
- Of the 32 circuits Hamilton’s now raced at in Formula 1, this circuit is one of 3 where he hasn’t taken pole position (others: Imola & The Buddh circuit in India)
- No fastest lap
- In the 2006 GP2 Series, Lewis Hamilton racing at this circuit overtook 18 cars on track in 19 laps on his way to a P2 finish
- This was one of Hamilton’s best racing performances taking fastest on the last lap to finish just under 2s off race winner
INSIGHT:
- Lewis Hamilton this weekend could clinch his 7th Formula 1 Championship if he maintains a 78 points lead to Bottas at the end of the race
- A win for Hamilton this weekend would be his 10th win of the season, to then make it 6 different seasons where he’s won 10 or more races (A record)
- A win would be his 2nd win at Istanbul Park, and a clean sweep of wins at all the 5 new circuits added to this year’s calendar
- If Hamilton wins the race, he’ll then set a new record for the most wins by a driver with the same constructor (73) beating Schumacher’s record with Ferrari
- This would also be Mercedes’s first win in Turkey, as well their first podium
- Pole position for Hamilton would be his 10th pole position of the season, to then extend the record to 6 seasons where he’s taken 10 or more pole positions in each
- A pole position for Lewis would also make this the 30th different circuit where he’s taken pole position to extend the record
- Lewis Hamilton could also secure this season’s DHL Fastest lap Award if he takes fastest lap of the race, or either Valtteri or Max fail to take fastest lap this weekend
- Fastest lap of the race would be his 3rd successive fastest lap in 3 races
- Fastest lap of the race could also give Hamilton the record of fastest laps at the most different circuits (25) beating Schumacher’s record
- This weekend’s grand prix could be Hamilton’s 15th consecutive grand prix where’s he’s qualified in the top 2 (including the 2019 Abu Dhabi GP)
- After breaking Schumacher’s record of the most top 10 finishes at the Nurburgring , Lewis Hamilton could extend this record to 230 Top ten finishes by a driver in Formula 1
Thanks for posting this. It seems next year is gonna be all new records for Ham. At this point, the only records he can’t beat are those based on young age such as youngest to win.
Appreciate 1
