Thought so.
Only way this could happen would be using hybrid technology. The upcoming 2-door 2er is already the CLAR-based snowflake here, solely catering to the G87 - there's no way BMW will develop a bespoke 4-door G87 variant now that they went FAAR with the 2GC.

You say that, but BMW is the company that gave us: a 4-door 3-series, a 4-door 3-series GT, a 4-door 4-series GC and a 2-door 4-series all on sale at the same time. I’m not entirely sure this company understands the concept of “redundancy.”
I mean honestly, can anyone tell me what the difference was between the M5 and M6 GC? They have the exact same drivetrain, are built on the same platform and have the same number of doors. They just designed two bodies for the same car and then charged 20k more for whichever one they decided was better looking.
