I’m no Jets fan but think they made out ok on paper. But if those first round picks are late first round because Seattle has great years, and the Jets can’t find a superstar with either pick (or package them to move up to find a star), hindsight may prove otherwise in a couple of years. Just like it might for the Dolphins trading away their young talent for draft picks that may or may not work out. In any event, if they had no intent on signing him to a long term deal, this is about as good of a trade as they were likely to find and the more time that passed, the worse the situation would become without a trade.

What I don’t like to see are players under contract forcing trades through disruptive behavior. But seems to be the trend.
