Just wanted to add to this.
The newer 2021 B58 engine with the higher output has oil consumption issues. This won't effect EU cars as they still have the older B58.
All platforms using the new 2021 engine (340i, Supra etc) are consuming oil regardless of how they were driven from new. There are some exceptions of people who don't seem to have the issue and BMW are currently trying to figure out if there is a bad batch of engines or if this is a 'characteristic' of the newer engine.
If you are having problems my advice is keep a record of how often your needing to top up - if BMW conclude it's a bad batch of engines then you want evidence to support your claim.
