I hit the 5,000 mark on Friday around 2pm and an alert popped up on the screen, saying that I needed to add 1 quart of oil immediately. Well, I was about 3 miles from the BMW dealership I bought the car from and pulled it in.
The dealership added 1 quart of LL-17 FE+ 0W20 like it was no big deal and I was on my way within 5 minutes. Apparently the Z4 M40i burns oil and its a known issue. While the 1 quart was under warranty, I bought another quart myself for $11.28 to keep at the house.
