Oh wow, I thought the next Z would be a new car from the ground up. But Nissan is in such dire financial straights, I suppose we can't expect more.

The whole Boxster/Cayman situation seemed odd to me. The 982 was no more than a refresh with new engines. Seems they only did it due to global emissions regulations forcing them to move to 4 cyl engines. They marketed it as an all-new car but it wasn't. For an 8 yr old car, the 981/982 still looks fresh.
