Porsche has just become too expensive unless you want a Macan S or Boxster/Cayman with the base engine.

M4, face aside, is a major porker. 3800-3900 lbs does not sound like a nimble driver's car to me.

I hear the C8 and Supra have issues with numb steering, but which car doesn't nowadays?

The M2 is the darling of the automotive world in my eyes due to its visceral driving experience and reasonable price, but it comes with its compromises (2 doors, not incredibly lightweight, severely dated interior).
