No, not the same at all. The Jaguar F-Type is a revival of a decades-old roadster concept, but bears little resemblance to the original Jaguar E-Type roadster that was discontinued in 1975. The current BMW Z4 is the latest iteration of an ongoing series that has always (until now) offered a manual transmission option in North America.
