Actually, in my opinion, a lease is better if you're going to put a lot of miles on the car. Each additional mile is only $.25. If I drive an additional 10,000 miles it will only cost me $2,500 above my lease payments. BMW will have a high mileage (relatively speaking) used car on their hands and I'll be on to a new one.
Now, if the new one is a 2025 final production Z4 with a true M-car engine I may buy it and treat it like a garage queen. I would certainly not want to blow through the 5-year warranty in three or four years. And in 15 years, the kids may get a real collector car with super low mileage. Or maybe then I'll just be a real old fart driving a real fast car!  |
If they came out with a true M engine then you may also wish to consider purchasing an extended warranty for this long term investment. 😉
