There were times when RBR had the better car and Verstappen still didn't win...think Monaco.
Ricciardo winning that race with a energy recovery failure...now that is winning on merit.
This brings me back to the MP4-24. Max has never driven a car as bad as the 2009 McLaren yet Lewis has 4 pole positions and 2 race wins in it. Max has had much better machinery each year he's been at Red Bull Racing and only has 2 pole positions in his entire career.

His best opportunities have always been in Mexico, Singapore, Monaco, and Hungary. That is over 20 chances in tracks that suit the design philosophy of the Red Bull and yet only 2 pole positions. This is a very big blot on his resume.
