IMHO, those sources are muddying the waters at best and should not garner high levels of trust. Zipse has spoken recently about a “new cluster architecture” whereas I haven’t seen any details from Zipse or BMW about an additional unique platform underpinning the iX and other upcoming EVs.

My strong suspicion is iX sits on this newly evolved CLAR variant, and that this will be the case for all new BMW products (above the 1 and 2 families) for the foreseeable future. This is consistent with BMW’s oft stated strategy of using one platform for everything. Furthermore, if/when this changes, we’ll hear endless hyperbole about a new EV only architecture that will be an obvious departure from legacy ones.
